The Ventura County Arts Council Board of Directors is pleased to announce a generous offer of financial support from the Curator of GALLERY AT THE CROWNE. Beginning with the up-coming show, "SUMMER '11" (May - September), funds will be forwarded to the Ventura County Arts Council (VCAC) based on artwork sales from the Gallery. Curator Terry Bray has committed 15% of her commission from gallery sales for 2011 and 2012. On a voluntary basis, each exhibiting artist can also designate a percentage of their sales commission go towards the financial support of the VCAC. 

Beginning in late 2009, Ms. Bray had made the same generous arrangement with Ventura County Food Share. Over the course of the agreement a combination of art sales from the Gallery and additional fundraising efforts at each of the three Artists' Receptions, GALLERY AT THE CROWNE raised over $4,000 in cash to feed the hungry citizens of Ventura County. Because of Food Share's county wide food purchasing power the conversion value ratio is $7.15 of food for each $1.00 in cash. As a result of the contributions from the Gallery at the Crowne, Ventura County Food Share was able to purchase more than $28,600 in groceries to help feed Ventura County! Once again, Ms. Bray's often voiced slogan rings true..."Never underestimate the power of art!"
